Bibby Remote Intervention ROV Manager Scott Munro has recently taken part in the City to Summit challenge, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
The full iron distance triathlon event consisted of the following;
A 2.4 Mile Swim in the Firth of Forth (between the two bridges in Edinburgh) which incorporated two laps in icy cold waters. This was followed by a 118 Mile Bike from South Queensferry (swim finish) to Glencoe with 2500 meters of ascent during the cycle. To conclude the event, Scott completed a 27 Mile Run from Glencoe to Glen Nevis, which takes in the summit of Ben Nevis and back down again and includes 2400 meters of ascent.
You can see why it’s tipped as the toughest iron distance race in the world! In the process Scott managed to raise a fantastic £915 for this great cause. Well done Scott, a fantastic achievement.
