Volunteering

Becoming a volunteer.......

The Giving Something Back team will be involved in organising a number of volunteer projects with the support of nominated charities and causes throughout the year.

The GSB promotional wall planner located at each site will be updated with promotions about these opportunities.

A volunteering event or opportunity can be a great way of team building with fellow colleagues, friends and family. Often people will be using skills when volunteering they might not have the opportunity to utilise in their work or home environment.

Volunteering takes place in the persons own time, however managers across Bibby Line Group acknowledge the amount of effort required to maintain a level of commitment towards a chosen cause. It is at the discretion of the manager to give permission to an employee who would like to support their chosen cause during working hours.

Often employees will be involved in their own community, supporting charities and causes and be aware of where extra help is required. We aim to gain details about the volunteers in our business, helping to promote their great efforts and highlighting the type of volunteering that takes place across the Group. These details will be promoted via a number of channels.

Completing a ‘How to become a volunteer’ (see download section) form helps identify the type of time an employee wants to give to a chosen cause or project.

Aspiring volunteers need to complete this form and e-mail, fax or post to the GSB team, who will then identify opportunities in that area on their behalf.
