Payroll Giving
What is
Payroll Giving?
Payroll Giving is an easy, tax efficient way to donate funds to a charity of
your choice and benefits both you as an employee and your charity. Donors sign
up to a monthly donation which is taken direct from payroll, before tax
deductions are made.
This means that a normal rate taxpayer (20%) signing up to a donation of £5 per month will pay only £4.00, whilst the charity receives £5.00. Those on a higher tax band (40%) donating £5.00 only pay £3.00 out of their salary.
Why should I sign up?
Taking part in Payroll Giving just requires you to complete a simple form
authorising payroll to make deductions from your salary, it couldn’t be simpler!
It’s such an easy way to give to charity and is ideal for busy people who do not
have the time to organise or take part in fundraising events.
The scheme is accessible for everyone across the Group (UK based) and if everyone
gave just £1 per week, (which will cost 80p) we can help to make a huge
difference, to lots of charities and good causes.
Double match your donation!
PLUS! As an added incentive we will double match the first month’s donation of
any employee who signs up to payroll giving. This means that if you give £5 per
month, Bibby Line Group will double this and your charity will receive £15.*
*To qualify for ‘double match’ funding employees must remain signed up to the
scheme for a minimum period of six months.
The business will also double match your payroll giving each year in the month of April. For every year you are signed up, you will receive a double match, for one month in that year.
How do I sign up?
Contact the Community Team and they will send you the relevant paperwork to sign up to the Payroll Giving scheme or download a Payroll Giving form.
Remember that often schools, nurseries, scout, cub and playgroups are registered
charities so this is a great way to support a local cause that means something
to you......
