Stephen Turk, an employee of BDL in Liverpool, volunteers 11hrs a week managing and coaching an under 13’s football team from Upton Junior Football Club. If you asked Stephen why he does it, he answers simply with “I enjoy it – It’s a pleasure being involved with a great set of lads seeing them develop as footballers and as young people. We are like an extended family as all the parents are also friends, which makes the success we achieve even sweeter. To me it doesn’t feel like volunteering and the hours don’t really matter as I get as much pleasure from it as anyone.”
