Brilliant time had by all at the Giving Something Back Awards 2015!

Our annual Giving Something Back Awards took place at the end of November at Liverpool Town Hall, and celebrated our employees successes from 2015. Over 80 people gathered at the iconic setting in the heart of the city, and were treated to a performance by a local choir, a speech by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Tony Conception and a 2 course delicious meal.

The six award categories were extremely hard to call for our judging panel, with 12 people also being Highly Commended for their remarkable contribution to charitable causes throughout the year. The winners and why they were recognised are detailed below:

Top Fundraiser: For spending an immense amount of time and effort into organising a Mascarade Ball which raised £25,000 for the Prince’s Trust Zero to Hero, the winner of the Top Fundraiser is Vicki Wyllie from Bibby Line Group. Highly Commended: Jennifer Cashin and Michael Mills

Top Community Champion: For her enthusiasm, passion and dedication to raising money for charity and internally promoting the GSB programme, the winner is Paula Halliday from BFS Bradford. Highly Commended: Michelle Boyd and Lisa Anne Homer

Most Innovative Event: After climbing the 4 Peaks with tables, chairs and teapots in aide of Macmillan Cancer Support, the winners are Adam Houseman and James Chandler from Costcutter. Highly Commended: Mick Doe and Andrew Smalley 

Top Volunteer: For truly making a difference in young people’s lives in his local community through his volunteer work with the scouts in the Isle of Man, organising various events that are enjoyed by all, the winner is Mark Bentley from Bibby Ship Management. Highly Commended: Jessica Brooksbank and Clare Hunter 

Outstanding Achievement: After cycling for 8 days from Scotland to Anglesey in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society raising over £2,000, the winner for outstanding achievement is Chris Ferguson from Bibby Hydromap. Highly Commended: Stuart Pittaway and Kimberly Campbell

Over and Above: By supporting their colleagues through Stress Awareness and winning several Apple awards in the process, the winners in this category are Andy Gardiner and Paul Webster from Bibby Offshore. Highly Commended: Toni Lang and Andrew Rhodes

A huge congratulations to all of our winners and the individuals who were Highly Commended, you have done an amazing job of supporting others and should be incredibly proud of yourselves! The event really demonstrated how dedicated our employees are to causes close to their hearts, with the Giving Something Back programme being truly valued by all involved.
