Every year the Sydney BFS office holds their International Food Day.
David Robertson, BFS Global CEO, describe the site to have one of the most multi-cultural offices in Bibby and the site embraced this by inviting everyone to cook a dish from their native country.
Everyone made a donation and each year the site nominates a charity close to their hearts. This year, Sydney choose to support the famine in Africa.
“The team believed it to be poignant to highlight how lucky we are in Australia and with all of the lovely food to share. We took this opportunity to remember those less fortunate.” - Michelle Boyd, Project Manager, Bibby Financial Services Australia Pty Ltd
The team raised a total of $162.30, which will be matched by the Australian Government and combined with the match funding from Bibby Line Group, will result in $486!
$91 can provide one family with food for a week and $450 can truck in enough water for 50 refugees for a month, so as you can see every dollar makes a difference!
Pictured are Faith Evangelista and Iona Yin sampling the food delights! Faith helped to organise the event with Michelle Boyd and Neelima Movva. - Well done girls!
There is a team of ten running for the North West Air Ambulance in the London Marathon this year. If you have a place and want to join Team Bibby then get in touch.
Fundraising doesn’t just have to be about sponsored events and cake sales! There are many challenge events you can take part in that allow you to complete a personal challenge whilst raising funds for your favourite charity.
