Description
Bibby Line Group Archivist, Christina Spencer, a member of the Rotary Club of Liverpool West Derby, along with the help of other Rotarian friends, raised over £1,000 to buy and donate 460 dictionaries to pupils in eleven primary schools in the South of Liverpool.
When the children were asked; 'What is a dictionary?' one of them replied: "it is a sort of computer but you can take it to bed!"
Actively involved in encouraging literacy the Rotary Club of Liverpool West Derby have also collected and distributed almost 2,500 books (mainly novels) as part of a 'Rotating Books' project.
