Stacy Nicholson (pictured first on the left) from BFS USA in Kennesaw participated in a fundraiser event called ‘Free to Breathe” sponsored by the National Lung Cancer Partnership.
Stacy supports this charity in particular as she lost her grandfather, Joseph Martin, in September 2005 to lung cancer. Stacy recently moved to Atlanta, but was able to create a team called “Jogging for Joe” consisting of: Stacy, Amanda Rudd & Rachael Grant from the Freightcheck office, Carl Odendahl (personal friend), and Peggy Connor (aunt). The “Jogging for Joe” team ran 5k through the (hilly) Virginia Highlands neighbourhood of Atlanta on Saturday, August 20th. Dorothy Martin, Stacy’s grandmother, drove 15 hours with her aunt Peggy to cheer them on and was really touched that they put the team together to honor her husband’s memory.
There is a team of ten running for the North West Air Ambulance in the London Marathon this year. If you have a place and want to join Team Bibby then get in touch.
Fundraising doesn’t just have to be about sponsored events and cake sales! There are many challenge events you can take part in that allow you to complete a personal challenge whilst raising funds for your favourite charity.
