Summer Weekend Ball

When:
18/06/2011
Where:
Biggleswade -
Category:
Bibby Community Events

Description

Anthony Martin (pictured far right) from BDL in Biggleswade helped raise £1,062 to be matched and split between The British Heart Foundation and a local hospice called St Johns. With the help of his wife Toni, farther Harry and mother Syliva, all pictured, the event was a great success!

The Summer Weekend Ball was created to raise money for local and national charities and began in the 1970’s.  Tony has been attending the ball for the last 8 years and this year himself and his wife where selected to be the hosts.

Tony and his wife (pictured far left) booked the venue, completed the invites, menus and were part of the whole running of the event.  Each year the hosts are able to choose the charities they would like all their hard efforts to support.  Tony chose The British Heart Foundation as his father (pictured centre) received a heart operation last year (2010) and the professionalism, care and support provided from the hospital and staff at Papwoth was exemplary.  The St Johns Hospice is a local charity that for many years has cared for many of loved ones of their friends and themselves.
