Community Programme 2009

The ‘Giving Something Back’ community programme has again been a fantastic success with the support we have given to the communities around the world in which our businesses operate.

Employees of Bibby Line Group have raised £309,000 for over 300 charities with the business match funding £240,000 of these donations. The yearly contribution to the charity Fairbridge of £200,000 has also been donated, which means together we have given £749,000 to charity in 2009.

We will continue to support our employees fundraising for their own nominated charities in 2010 and have set ourselves a target of £150,000 by the end of the year. The company will also continue to match fund £ for £ up to a maximum of £1,500 per event.

There are guidelines in place for match funding to give guidance as to the charities and events of which the company is happy to match the funds raised by employees. The guidelines can be found in the ‘download’ section of the website but if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact the Community Team who will be happy to assist.

The theme of our community programme in 2010 continues to be ‘Giving Something Back’. We want this to be a recognised theme at all of our sites so people can really be part of giving back to their communities and involving their local causes.

If you do get involved in an event or fundraise at a local level please let the Community Team know. Remember when you take part in an event always make sure you get a good picture. We can then use them on our website, in the Bibby News or to send to the media on your behalf to promote your charitable involvement.
